Mommy, You're Fired!

Ok, so maybe I was a bit overconfident thinking that I would blog a few times a week. Here is my excuse: Life. Life got in my way, funny how it does that...

So, I will give a quick update and then move on to ponder how I will successfully and consistently maintain this little blog.

Christmas-was eventful!!! The weekend before Christmas, Peter ended up flat on his back, having done some major damage to himself trying to get back into tennis a little too quickly. On Christmas Eve, Noah and I found ourselves in the Emergency Room. Thinking that we would get a hefty dose of antibiotics and then head home, I put him in his jammies and drove to the ER. Unfortunately for us that was not the case. Noah was admitted and we spent the next three days cooped up in the hospital. He had a nasty infection that was not responding to IV antibiotics. Eventually the Docs perfected the cocktail and the infection dissipated and we went home. Sam and Peter and Uncle Trouble had an unusual Christmas eve and morning at the house and then joined us in the hospital for a lovely cafeteria dinner and some present opening. All in all, Noah was an angel and the crisis was over quickly. I did promise myself to have an extra glass of wine every Christmas Eve from now on just to help remember how lucky we are to be together (at least that is what I am telling myself!!).

Figgy Pudding anyone?
Christmas Dinner, YUM YUM!!
On our way home

At this point I can't even remember New Year's Eve. I know we were all quite sick, but I think it was fairly uneventful.

January-Grandpa Jim Jim visited for a long weekend. the boys were fortunate enough to get some major bonding time with him. We had a wonderful family weekend that included lots of time from Trouble!!!

Sam turned "actually5". We had a Justice League Bash with many mini superheroes running around and lots of silly string everywhere (thanks for cleaning it all up mom!!). He chose to be Wonder Woman for his big day and I must say that Peter handled that BEAUTIFULLY!!! Sam has taken the ripe old age of 5 very seriously with some major accomplishments. He has begun reading and is sounding out every word that his eyes can spy!! He has been SUPER to his little brother, acting very mature and with such selflessness. He has also finally stopped wearing a diaper at night (I am keeping my fingers crossed) and is doing really well keeping his bed dry!!!

Wonder Woman in all her glory!!Super Noah!!

Peter has recovered from his back injury, Noah has become a healthy little terror and I am trying to navigate my new position as 'she who runs the house'. Donna is no longer with us and the piles of laundry that I have to show for it are TRAGIC!!! Sam told me yesterday that I was "fired". Obviously, I need to work on my homemaker skills; if only I could figure out how to blog and fold laundry at the same time....
